How it started

Founded in 1930 in New York City, initially named Thea & Schoen, we were one of the original Electrical Construction Supplies Manufacturers' Representatives in the NY Metro area. We pride ourselves in being a family owned and operated business for nearly a century. We are also proud that we continue to represent our original manufacturer, while growing to represent hundreds of brands today.

How it’s going

In 2020, we became an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), which allowed us to continue to be “family owned”. Our family of employees are now all owners, which allows us to stay true to the culture and values developed over decades here at THEA.

Where we’re headed

A commitment to continuous evolution is one of our key principals. As the needs of our customer's evolve, so must we. We also look to use industry leading technology & knowledge to continuously improve processes, services, and access to resources. Our Team

We have a dynamic team that consists of over 160 employees. Our team is passionate about work (and life!) and are ready to support any scale project. Pictured below are some members of our Residential Sales Team, along with some details about the types of employees we proudly call our family.

WELL, LEED, & CEDIA APs

We have a team of accredited professionals that can deliver AIA credits to Architects & Designers. Our staff also includes globally recognized CEDIA presenters that can deliver information on the latest technology to our Residential partners.

Lighting Specialists

Our team of lighting specialists includes lighting designers who can provide guidance on fixture placement, beam angle specification, trim finishes, aiming & focus, and light level settings.

Application Engineers

On staff engineers can provide all required calculations and documentation to make your project a success. We offer Lighting & Lighting Control System design, along with photometric calculations. We also offer Wi-fi Network mapping, Acoustical Heat mapping, and more.

Sales Consultants

We have dedicated inside and outside sales people dedicated to each one of our divisions. We hire and retain highly effective sales teams that understand our business.
